This page
contains important information for ALL AYC families. It includes
detailed logistics information for the Tidings and Tapestries concert
performances and dress rehearsals. Directions to the churches and
parking instructions are at the bottom of the email. An
explanation of the Cantori sign-out procedure is included as well.
You will receive
two free tickets (per enrolled singer) for this concert in your parent
mailbox or at FM rehearsal. Additional tickets may be
purchased in the WPC Fellowship Center on Tuesdays before rehearsal, or
at the door, for $7. These tickets may be used at either
performance. In fact, for this concert, we have decided to allow
each ticket to be used at both performances. Saturday night, when
you enter the performance at SUMC, your ticket will be torn in
half. The stub that you keep can be used again for admission on
Sunday. Performers, naturally, do not need a ticket.
If you have any
questions about this information, you can contact us by replying to
this email, or by calling the AYC office at (770) 982-0549.

Treble

it's warm, we'll remove the sweatshirts.

Cantori
Sign-Out Procedure
For the safety of our youngest young artists, we require that an adult
sign out each Cantori singer after public events. At the end of
each performance, Cantori will go to a designated room where one or
more chaperones will have a Sign-Out roster. Before releasing any
Cantori singer, the adult with whom the singer is leaving must sign the
roster. If a singer has left and we have no signature, we
consider it an emergency and will attempt to contact you at every phone
number we have on file, until we confirm the singer is with you.
The signing adult does not have to be a parent - a grandparent,
neighbor, uncle, or sibling will do - but it must be someone that the
chaperone recognizes as an adult. Cantori parents have
consistently supported this process, however, if it imposes a hardship
on your family, you can sign the Sign-Out roster in advance, and we
will release your child to join the audience at the end of the concert.
For Tiding & Tapestries the Cantori sign-out process will take
place in the choir room of each church. The SUMC choir room is
across the hallway from the Gathering Room where most of you will enter
for the performance. There are signs on the two choir room
doors. To help with traffic flow, please enter through the door
nearest the water fountain (i.e., the door on your left as you face the
choir room), pick up your child, then exit back into the hallway
through the door at the other end of the choir room. The
PRUMC choir room is below the sanctuary. After the performance,
leave the sanctuary through the doors in the front, to the left of the
chancel platform, and an usher will direct you to the choir room.

Info Snellville
United Methodist Church is located on Highway 78 (Main Street) just
east of the intersection with Highway 124. The address is 2428
East Main St., Snellville GA. Please park on the west side of the
church (the old City Hall side), as there is a wedding in the chapel
(on the east side) later on Saturday, and we don't want to get in their
way. From the parking lot, walk past the driveway through the
small portico, and enter through the next door on your right.
After you enter the hallway, the Choir Room will be through the marked
doors on your right; the Gathering Room is the large glassed-in room
slightly ahead on your left. The sanctuary, where the concert
will take place, is accessible through the Gathering Room.
Tickets will be available for sale in the Gathering Room before the
concert.
PRUMC
Info Peachtree Road
United Methodist Church is located on Peachtree Road, about one mile
south (toward Atlanta) from Lenox Square Mall. The address is 3180
Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta.
From Snellville,
you could get there this way (this is not necessarily the fastest way,
just the easiest to explain):
- Take Highway 78 West to the N. Druid Hills exit
- Right on North Druid Hills
- Take left fork onto Roxboro Rd, just past Buford Highway
- Roxboro becomes Wieuca
- Turn left on Peachtree Rd
- Church is on the right after about one mile
The church is
about 25 miles from Snellville, and the trip takes about 50 minutes in
"normal" traffic. There are several parking lots for the
church. If you turn right from Peachtree onto West Shadowlawn
Ave. (just before the church campus), there is a lot immediately on
your left. It’s the closest to the sanctuary. If that lot
is full, there is a larger lot across Shadowlawn that should have
space. There is additional parking in two lots in back of the
church on Mathieson Place.
There is a
circular drive next to the church, off the W. Shadowlawn Ave. parking
lot. The left end of the circular drive is near the entrances
which will take you to the sanctuary or the choir room.
From the left
end of the circular driveway:
To get to
the sanctuary, enter
through the entrance labeled "Rollins Center" and
proceed straight ahead and up the stairs. At the top of the stairs,
look for signs leading to the Sanctuary and Chapel toward your
left. If you are coming from the parking area on Mathieson Place,
there is an entrance labeled "Sanctuary & Chapel" down a sidewalk
to the left of the overhang. Come in that entrance, go up the
stairs, and look for the signs mentioned above.
To get to
the choir room when
you arrive on Sunday afternoon, start at the left end
of the circular drive, and look for steps going down. At the
bottom of the steps there is a small alcove; the choir room door is on
the left. Someone will be posted in this area to help you find
the doorway.
There is a map
of the roads near the church here. There is a
diagram of the church buildings here.
Note that the areas
tying the various buildings together, shaded brown in the diagram, are
indoors.
